Rev. Cochrane was raised in Sharon Springs, KS; where he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at Hi-Plains Baptist Church.  After high school, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Kansas at Lawrence, KS in 1974 and in 2002 received a Master of Business Administration degree from Kansas Wesleyan University at Salina, KS.

On July 6, 2003, he joined St. John’s MBC, based on his Christian experience, and began his service to God and to the church as a member of the trustee board, under the late Jim Thomas Sr., trustee chairperson.

In November of 2004, Rev. Cochrane accepted his call to the ministry that God had placed on his heart, and began his journey under the direction of his pastor, and mentor, Rev. Allen D. Smith; preaching his first sermon on April 24, 2005, and was then licensed to preach the gospel by St. John’s MBC.  He has been active in the Laymen’s ministry, church and Pastor’s anniversary committees, leadership training, Sunday School, has recently restarted the Overcomers recovery ministry, and was appointed Assistant to the Pastor in the spring of 2011.  Rev. Dennis Cochrane was ordained in March of 2012.

Rev. Cochrane has been married to Marcie for 34+ years, and together they have a daughter Monique Sprague, and grandchildren Hailey ShaNae Mayfield and Romoni Elijah Joel Sprague.
