Rev. Brandon J. Cheeks-Assistant to the Pastor


Rev. Brandon J. Cheeks, Sr. was born in Memphis, Tennessee, where he accepted Christ at the age of 12 while attending Temple of Deliverance COGIC, presided by the late Bishop G.E. Patterson. By 23, he was called into the ministry and later ordained in 2016 at St. John’s Missionary Baptist Church. Rev. Cheeks served faithfully under his mentor, Pastor Dr. Allen D. Smith, as the Youth Pastor for many years and was appointed Assistant to the Pastor at St. John’s in July 2020.

Rev. Cheeks received his bachelors degree at Kansas Wesleyan University. After several decorated years as a teacher and coach, he continued his education at Kansas State University, where he earned his master’s in Educational Leadership. He is currently an administrator for Salina Public Schools USD 305 and Student Support Advisor at Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina, KS. In addition, Rev. Cheeks humbly serves as the Greater Salina Community Board, NAACP Salina Scholarship Committee, and as the Missionary Baptist State Convention of Kansas Co-Youth Director

Rev. Brandon J. Cheeks is happily married to his lovely wife, Ralita Cheeks. They are the proud parents of seven: the late Brandon Cheeks Jr., Tamia, Jalen, Bralynn, Reagan, Rhythm, and Bree
