Achieving Excellent and Things Praise WorthyIf the world is going to change for the better; if our lives are going to change for the better; the believer, the Christian must be the one who leads that change. Our focus has to be different. Our actions need to be different; however, before we truly change our mindset has to change.
In this mornings text Paul teaches us where our focus needs to be to achieve God’s level of excellence and God’s praise.
If we are going to achieve the excellence of God and praise from God, we must:
- Seek the truth as given to us by God.
- Seek things that honor and bring glory to God.
- Let God determine what is right
- Seek to be pure or faultless before God
- Seek the things that God loves
- Seek to be well spoken of by God
- Accept Godly challenges to raise the standards of our life.
Application
- Every believer should strive to get out of their comfort zone.
- Every believer should recognize that they have a higher standard and calling upon their lives.
- Every believer should strive to please God.
- Every believer should focus on their reputation with God and not man.
- Every believer should seek relationships with those who are seeking God.
God help us not to settle for less when the best of what you have to offer. God help us to agree with you for what is right and pure and lovely and of good repute. We thank you that you have set a standard for our lives that causes us to seek your face; that causes of us to lean of you, that causes us to learn from you, and that causes to call on you. Lord help us to be all that you want us to be. In Jesus name we pray. AMEN
