Putting Our Faith Into Action
 James 2:14-26

2009 will be a year of putting our faith into action. If we really desire to please Him, we must be willing to walk by faith with Him.   If Christians desire for God to take them to new heights, there must be a greater trust in Him. Faith must be more than just talk, there must be some action. Below are some principles the Word gives us for putting our faith into action.

1.                  Putting our faith in to action requires us to have an understanding of God’s intended use of faith.

a.         We must walk by faith and not by site. (2 Corinthians 5:7)
b.        Faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1)

2.                  Putting our faith in to action requires that we have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
a.         Our relationship with God must be seen as a “my” relationship.
b.        We must know that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. (Romans 10:17)
c.         God’s relationship is intended to supply you with all of your needs according to His riches in glory. (Philippians 4:19)

3.                  Putting our faith in to action requires us to actually put our faith into action.
a.         For by it (faith) the men of old gained (God’s) approval. (Hebrews 11:7)
b.        Without faith, it is impossible to please God. (Hebrews 11:6)

Application:
a.       Our faith must be seen as real by others.
b.      Our faith must affect other’s lives in a positive way.
c.       Our faith must show evidence of our personal relationship with God.
Prayer

Lord help every believer realize that there must be evidence of their faith. Lord help every believer apply the principles of Your Word in every area of their lives. Thank you Lord in advance for what you are going to do in us and through us in 2009. In Jesus name. AMEN.
