Principles of Sowing and Reaping
(Being productive in our work for the Lord)
Galatians 6:6-9
In 2009, it is my goal and heart’s desire that every believer would put their faith into action. We also are encouraged that God would stir our actions; therefore, the actions that we take would be the result of the Spirit of God moving in us.
In addition to taking action, in addition to God stirring our hearts, I also believe that God wants believers to be encouraged and blessed by their work. One of the biblical principles that God governs is the principle of sowing and reaping. God’s word calls for us to sew into good ground, and when we sow into good ground we can expect a harvest. Not only can we expect a harvest when we sow into good ground; but, also we will reap according to kind of seed that we sow.
Sowing and reaping is a product of the work of God. The following principles of sowing and reaping are described in Galatians 6:
1. Sow back into the lives of those who sowed into your life.
2. Sowing activates God who brings about your harvest.
3. Reaping is a product of what was sown.
a. Sowing to the flesh produces death.
b. Sowing to the Spirit will produces life.
Application:
After you have sown, reaping requires:
A. Being positive.
B. Perseverance.
C. Patience
D. Power.
Good farmers or laborers for Christ realize that their harvest is a product of good ground and good seed. My prayer is: Lord help us to be better laborers for Christ by working in good ground and planting good seed. As we plant our seed, Lord let our faith for the harvest be in You. We realize Lord, that every good and perfect gift comes from you. Thanking you in advance Lord, for what you are going to do. In Jesus name. AMEN.
